Cashless vs Reimbursement Claim: Key Differences
See how network-garage cashless claims differ from reimbursement claims and what you may still need to pay.
In a cashless claim, the approved repair amount is generally settled directly between the insurer and an authorised network garage. The customer pays deductibles, depreciation, exclusions and non-approved items.
In a reimbursement claim, the customer usually pays the repair bill first and then submits the required documents to the insurer for assessment and eligible reimbursement.
A network garage can make settlement simpler, but garage quality, location and repair capability should also be considered. A non-network garage may still be used subject to policy terms and survey requirements.
Always obtain claim intimation and follow the survey instructions before starting repairs.
